About Our Halfway Houses
At Alpha House Recovery, we provide a unique and comprehensive approach to recovery, focusing on rebuilding individuals from the inside out. [cite: 68]
We work one-on-one with recovering addicts to help them develop skills and find resources for both their recovery and overall life success. This program was developed by addicts - for addicts, understanding the underlying causes for addiction and factors involved in relapse. [cite: 64, 65, 66]
Our Goal-Oriented Recovery Program
Providing shelter only covers one basic need; we focus on developing character, providing tools, and helping clients learn skills for lasting success. [cite: 67, 68]
Our aim is to cover areas other programs do not address, creating an environment where addicts can thrive, not just simply survive, promoting all-around healing. [cite: 69, 70]
Our 100% voluntary program allows people to work, learn, develop, and grow at their own pace, recognizing that many addicts never developed basic social or job skills due to their drug use stifling growth. [cite: 72, 74]
The program focuses on client development and setting goals in seven basic areas: Recovery, Physical Health, Mental Health, Financial Stability, Spiritual Health and Wellness, Social Development, and Recreation and Free Time. [cite: 75]
Key Program Areas:
- **Recovery:** Our first focus is on what your problem is and what you want to do about it. [cite: 76] We work with service providers and the recovery community to help people become successful in their recovery, providing tools and resources to heal from addiction's damage to individuals, families, employers, the judicial system, and society. [cite: 77, 78, 79] Recovery takes precedence over any other areas of our lives. [cite: 85, 86] It includes counseling, 12-step programs, inpatient/outpatient rehab, federal/state programs, education, and empowering clients with purpose, honesty, respect, integrity, gratitude, confidence, and self-worth. Our program works directly with clients on employability skills, resume writing, business management, work ethic, and finding resources for education, new trades, or career paths. [cite: 108, 109] This includes paying bills on time, finding affordable/stable housing, facilitating home ownership, building small businesses, and teaching investment strategies to make money work for them. [cite: 110, 111]
